Hello and welcome into my thoughts, my heart, and my soul. This book is
about spiritual experience. As a woman in her sixties who is a wife, mother,
grandmother, teacher, Spiritualist minister, psychic medium, writer, musician,
and friend to many, I have a story to share with you. As you read it, you will
see that Spirit has spoken to me in many ways: through lucid dreams,
out-of-body experiences, waking visions, revelations, precognitions, and many
inspirational experiences while I was in a light trance state. I have learned a
great deal as I have communicated with realms I never imagined existed.
The spiritual experiences I write about in this book are personal, and there
is no way to verify them. I am allowing myself to share these unverifiable
experiences solely because I have brought much evidence that is verifiable by the people I have done readings for.
When working as a psychic medium and communicating with a loved one in spirit,
most of the evidence is about what the person was like when he or she was
alive. Because much of the evidence has been verified, I cannot dismiss all the
nonverifiable experiences I have had. The verifiable evidence has proved to me
that there is a world of the spirit that we can communicate with.
As you read my story, know that it is an ongoing experience. As a teacher of
spirituality and spirit communication, I make it very clear to my students that
no matter what I say at any given moment, I may change my mind in the future. I
often look at my watch before making a statement and say, “This evening at 8:43
I have a belief that I am about to share with you. However, if I should learn
something new that changes my thinking, my belief will change, perhaps by next
year or perhaps by tomorrow evening.”
I do not want to sound like an authority figure in my classes or in this
book just for the sake of being authoritative. The doubts and questions that I
have about my spiritual experiences are the same feelings that my students and
many readers may have. My conflicts are real and shared by many people. So I am
not interested in hiding my vulnerability just to appear like I know what I am
doing. My vulnerability is my story.
While I am vulnerable as I interact with the world of spirit, I am by no
means a pushover. Just because the world of spirit imparts something to me, I
do not fall to the ground and shout “halleluiah.” Carole Lynne, on the
personality level, sometimes questions and disagrees with the teachings that
come through during spiritual experience. The part of my consciousness that I
name my Greater Self is able to access teachings that my everyday conscious
mind either disagrees with or is not ready for. Part of my story is the
three-way interaction between my everyday conscious mind, which I call my
go-to-the-grocery-store state of consciousness, my Greater Self, and the world
of spirit.
I am finally speaking out because all of us need honest dialogue. Because I
have been brought up in a culture where “visions of spirit” are usually dismissed
as hallucinations, I kept my story to myself for years, as have many of you. We
have been brainwashed to disbelieve our spiritual experiences. We have been
taught that the only way to have spiritual experiences is through the guidance
of a religious authority figure, such as a minister, priest, or guru. This does
not mean that we cannot get a great deal out of being part of an organized
religion. I am part of the religion of Spiritualism, and I receive a great deal
from this religion. However, my story is about my direct communication with
Spirit.
Do you use the word Spirit? If not, you may
prefer a term such as God, the Divine, Great Spirit,
Infinite Spirit, the Creator, Divine Consciousness, or no name
whatsoever. My story is not about naming and labeling. It is a story of
spiritual discovery and speaks to anyone from any religious affiliation and to
those with no formal affiliation. I am speaking to that part within each one of
us that is connected to the One from which we came and to which we shall
return.
My story is about direct communication with the cosmic spiritual
realms–about being part of spiritual spheres that cannot be seen with the naked
eye or measured by any current scientific instruments. My experience embraces
the one-on-one, direct, mystical, and incredibly transforming relationship that
any one of us can have with the Divine. You may see yourself echoed in the
stories of my dreams, visions, and messages from other realms of consciousness.
Or, if you do not relate to my story, you may be encouraged to speak with the
Divine in your own way.
I perceive the spiritual energy that I communicate with as nothing like a
spirit guide or angel. I understand that I am merging with an energy that is
intelligent, evolving, and cannot be personified. While there are ultimately no
words to describe this energy, the best words that I can find to describe it
are connection, impulse, and creative
force.
While I am a psychic medium, this story is not about communications with my
loved ones or yours. With all due respect to your loved ones and mine, and with
a firm commitment to continue to communicate with their spirits, I also have a
passion for communicating with intelligences and energies that have evolved far
beyond our human experience.
I have come to believe that you and I communicate on many levels of
consciousness. Right now, your mind is focused on the words I have written. But
there is another dimension of consciousness that our everyday, logically
oriented state of mind is not aware of. I speak of a deeper, broader
consciousness, a realm where part of you, part of me, and part of every human
being exists. We communicate all the time in this other dimension, perhaps when
we are sleeping or in a deep state of meditation. Our spiritual selves are not
limited to our physical bodies and can travel into spiritual realms, where we
can communicate. As you read this book, allow yourself to go into a deeper
state, and I will meet you there. As you read, allow yourself to become the
stories you are reading, and perhaps you will find answers; perhaps you will be
inspired.
If my story can assist you on your spiritual path, then I will have done
what I am here to do in this lifetime. The mysterious energy of the world of
spirit will help me give my story to you and then help you use whatever you
receive for your highest good and for the good of others. When I first began to
walk the spiritual path, all I wanted was to receive guidance from the world of
spirit about how I could be more successful, more beautiful, make more money,
and be happier. I spoke like I thought a spiritual person should speak, and
portrayed the image of what I thought a spiritual person should be. But as the
vibrations of the spiritual messages and visions I received began to permeate
my consciousness, I started to change. I became more in touch with my Greater
Self and felt the love of the Divine.
These days, without trying, I am becoming more accepting of myself. It is
ironic. The more I accept myself, the less I need to focus on personal issues.
While I used to ask,“What can I do to have more of what I need?” these days I
often ask, “What more can I do for those in need? What more can I do for our
troubled world?” Like most of us, on some days I am more self-centered than on
others. With the problems our world faces today, none of us can afford to be as
self-centered as we have been.
Evolution is not over! The future of our world depends on our abilities to
evolve in a positive way: to let go of our egos, to realize that we are not
separate beings, and to evolve to a consciousness that finds poverty,
pollution, and war unthinkable. We are responsible for the future. But how can
we change in order to have better personal lives and to make better choices for
our world?
Each one of us needs to change and to focus less on “me” and more on “we.”
In my opinion, we can’t create a better world unless we evolve spiritually. The
cosmic connection is the connection to spiritual realms and it belongs to
everyone. As we discover the cosmic connection, we receive and we evolve.
Our lives improve. The world is changed.
The spiritual journey I have been on has brought me incredible insights and
knowledge. I have opened the channel, and the wisdom is flowing through. My
communications with the world of spirit have changed the way that I look at
reality. I have come to conclusions about the way the universe was formed and
continues to exist. I have thoughts about the ways that you are I are all
connected by an incredible spiritual energy: the force of all creation. I have
connected with cosmic energies and beings that have changed my way of thinking
about us. I have received teachings that are changing the ways I want to live.
I offer my story in the hopes that you are inspired to pursue your own
spiritual path in order to live a better life and in order to bring greater
wisdom to our magnificent but troubled world.

everyone. It is there for you.
At the end of our physical lives, we are all on the way home to the eternal
world, and we may take different paths to get there. Ride along with me on my
path, and then take whatever is useful to you as you make your own choices and
find your own path home.
